Fly in STS-01 with DJI Mavic 3 Pro /enterprise : Gautier Veltri explains everything
Famed French Youtubeur renowned for his drone expertise, Gautier Veltri was visiting Dronavia. To celebrate the event, we introduced him to a European exclusivity: the first C5 class-compliant for DJI Mavic 3 Pro / Pro Cine drones, enabling professional telepilots to perform flight missions in urban areas using the STS-01 scenario. In this article, we look back at his visit and the Dronavia announcements.
DJI’s first Mavic 3 Pro drone with EASA C5 class
Gautier Veltri’s visit to the Dronavia premises was an opportunity for the company to officially announce a French and European exclusivity: the launch of C5 conversion kits (PRS + FTS) for DJI Mavic 3 Pro and Pro Cine. Dronavia was already the first on the market to offer a C5 conversion kit for DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise (3E / 3T / 3M) drones.
This regulatory step forward enables professional drone pilots to carry out urban flight missions within the STS-01 European scenario, offering operators a simple and secure way of unlocking their specific category flight missions.
“I was lucky enough to have the first C5-class DJI Mavic 3 Pro and Pro Cine in Europe and France! A safety solution that will unlock many French telepilots currently waiting for a solution to be able to fly missions in urban areas (STS-01), since January 1, 2024.”

When a DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise / Pro / Pro Cine drone is upgraded to C5 class using the Kronos MVC3 conversion kit, it can :
- Fly legally and safely in the specific category STS-01 flight scenario, meeting EASA expectations. C5 class and compliance with the standard imposed by EASA also enable remote pilots to benefit from the best risk management and safety measures.
When a DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise / Pro / Pro Cine drone becomes C5 class thanks to the Kronos MVC3 conversion kit, it also complies with MOC2512 (M2) and MOC2511 and can :
- Enable the development of a SORA (Special Operations Risk Assessment) or PDRA (Pre-Defined Risk Assessment) to unlock even more complex flight missions, which would not fit into the STS-01 flight scenario. Dronavia has already enabled several professional drone pilots to validate their SORA or PDRA applications. Dronavia provides compliance documents.
First STS-01 flight available: Video summary
Gautier Veltri talks about French and European drone regulations, mentioning the importance of the new C5 class and the challenges it represents for both telepilots and manufacturers such as DJI. He discusses the current legal uncertainty in France regarding the regulation of flights in urban areas (the old S3 scenario is due to expire on 31 December 2023 and STS-01 flights are impossible because there are no C5-class drones on the market) and the possibilities offered by the new Kronos MVC3 system for the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise and now for the DJI Mavic 3 Pro / Pro Cine.
After a brief presentation of Dronavia, the founder and CEO of Dronavia, Ludovic Pelletey, presented the components of the C5 conversion kit: the Flight Termination System (FTS), the Parachute Recovery System (PRS), the parachute ejection system, the POD rearmament system, the trigger remote control and the other parts of the system. This is a good opportunity for him to point out that the entire design and manufacturing process is carried out in-house in France, with teams dedicated to mechanics, electronics and on-board software.
It was also an opportunity to show him how a release test (on a DJI Matrice 300) is carried out in an aviary and how Nicolas (Dronavia’s test telepipot) carries out part of the test series for the constant improvement of Dronavia products.
Then Pierre, our workshop technician, demonstrates the installation of the internal FTS system (an integral part of the C5 conversion kit), demonstrating all Dronavia’s technical expertise. He explains each step in detail and carries out a functional test to ensure that the system is working properly.
After showing in detail how the C5 conversion kit works and is installed, it’s time to test it in real-life conditions. After a number of successful tests with the Kronos MVC3 system, we gave Gautier Veltri the opportunity to test the Kronos systems for the DJI Inspire 3 and DJI Matrice 350, which are also C5, thanks to an accessory kit.
“We sincerely thank Gautier Veltri for his curiosity, professionalism and enthusiasm, and for the opportunity to present our safety solutions and know-how to the drone community.”

KRONOS MVC3
Dronavia is proud to offer exclusive C5 class compliance (EASA) for DJI Mavic 3 Pro / Pro Cine / Enterprise (C2) drones, thanks to the Kronos MVC3 conversion kit, composed a Parachute Recovery System (PRS) and an internal Flight Termination System (FTS).
